Technics Group ‘Rock a T-Shirt’ for War Child
Technics’ employees have raised over £200 for the charity War Child by sporting their favourite band t-shirts to work. Employees left their smart suits at home and surprised colleagues with an array of musical tastes. The emblazoned band names included: Metallica, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Eminem, The Jam, Fat Boy Slim…with an unexpected fan base for One Direction in the Finance Department!!
Technics test new GPR technology
The Technics team can’t help but get excited when new surveying technology comes onto the market; with every new piece of equipment is the opportunity to work more efficiently and effectively to the benefit of our clients. Once we heard IDS had redesigned their Duo Ground Penetrating Radar system we immediately arranged for a demonstration with Drilline Products.
Surrey Hills Case Study
Technics was able to use the physical features still present to resolve this boundary dispute, but what does it mean for the client when there are no physical features available?
Your Registered Title may not be your Legal Boundary
The Issue
There’s a lot of confusion about boundary plans and what they actually show. The terminology doesn’t help much and only adds to the general confusion. The plans that are used when we buy and sell property only indicate the boundary line and don’t necessarily define it. All of this comes to light only when we have to investigate the title to a property. This could include a poorly defined property boundary in rural area, but is just as common in a closely packed urban housing estate. So what is the story with property plans and how relevant are they?
African Survey Company visits Technics Group
We invited Wycliffe Abiero from Ramani Geosystems to Technics House for a week to share in our culture and enable him to understand how we develop our people who are aspiring to fulfil the company vision. We set a busy agenda for Wycliffe to enable him to meet with all the Directors, Managers and our Surveyors working on site and processing data in the office. We also shared our systems and processes with him to demonstrate how efficient we are in delivering over 800 projects per year.
Technics Property Department is born
We are delighted to announce that Adam Harwood has been promoted to Property Manager.
Sinkholes – can they be avoided?
Technics Group invited their partner Arrow Geophysics to provide a Guest blog about subsidence and sinkholes, which as we know have been highlighted in the news due to the heavy rain and extreme flooding that we’ve been experiencing recently. According to news reports this has led to more than five times the average number of sinkholes being reported during February. Deterioration can happen rapidly – the two photos shown below were taken four days apart at a school in north Kent!
Technics Group goes Hybrid
We are pleased to welcome our first hybrid trainee surveyor to the team. Evan Devereux will receive training in both above and below ground surveys which will provide greater flexibility to our team in delivering multiple services to our clients.
Technics Group solutions run deep
Technics Group is pleased to announce a unique technique which can determine, at surface, the position and depth of below ground water bearing pipelines from 2m to 25m deep in most ground conditions. Recent developments and testing have shown that the technique delivers accuracy levels of ± 0.3m either side of the centreline of the pipe.
