Comfort Cooking from IONS EarthRise Chef de Cuisine

In times as uncertain as these, I like to return to two concepts that guide much of what I do in the kitchen at EarthRise: simplicity and flexibility. While you may be tackling how to bake bread or make your mother’s pasta sauce, sometimes returning to basics can be a way to calm our hearts, minds, and bodies. While our current situation is both strange and unsettling, the kitchen can be a welcome respite from the anxiety — a way to transform the fear, anger, and unknowing into action… tangible, delicious action!  One can approach the kitchen counter with compassion for oneself and for one’s capacity to feed and nourish.

Global Consciousness and the Coronavirus Crisis

Starting in late February, 2020, the news in US media has been filled with concerns about the novel Coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China. In the US at that time, there were reports on the disruptions overseas and warnings that there would be a worldwide spread of the Covid-19 virus. Since then, we have recognized this is a pandemic that will likely infect a large proportion of the world population. In connection with the physical spread of the virus, there is another “viral” effect – on the world’s economies – with serious and continuing disruptions. This can be seen in stock market activity which has fluctuated wildly over the last few weeks, with extreme daily changes of 5-13%.

How to Be of Service (And Why It Matters)

The best thing you can do for yourself and the planet is to be of service to others. You can practice every energy medicine technique in the book: journal your deepest feelings until your wrist hurts, meditate twice daily, pray, connect with Mother Nature, clear your chakras, release your limiting beliefs, etc., but if you aren’t being of service, you are not fully living in the light.

How an IONS Meditation Study Transformed One Participant’s Life and Health

Our research studies at IONS help us gather scientific information on which innovative approaches to noetic sciences have the greatest impact on individual and global consciousness and transformation. We could not do this important work without our wonderful study participants! Their contribution of time and effort is critically important to the data that we collect, but their individual experiences of participating in IONS studies are not often reflected in the professional papers we publish. Ultimately, these personal transformations are the very purpose of why we do the work we do at IONS. Our research is important because it helps provide information about how we can support individual and global transformation.
