This year, we continued our support for Challengers, a brilliant charity that provides inclusive play and leisure opportunities for children and young people with disabilities. Our 2025 contribution combined a direct donation through the Big Give initiative with additional funds raised through our internal Winter Walk Challenge.
Throughout November, the Technics & Earth Environmental & Geotechnical team came together and took part in a Winter Walk Challenge, a month-long initiative encouraging staff to stay active during the colder months while raising money for Challengers, a charity that supports disabled children and young people through inclusive play and leisure opportunities.

Evan joined Technics 11 years ago as a Trainee Utility Surveyor, having made a significant career change from working as a chef. Growing up on a farm, working outdoors felt like a more natural fit, and surveying offered the perfect combination of technical challenge and time in the field.
Alex Williams is one of the team members who works in the Desktop Utility Reports department for Technics. The Desktop Utility Reporting Department at Technics services an average of nearly 200 projects per month, with sites ranging from individual houses and small businesses up to large-scale infrastructure, including wind and solar farms, cross-country cable routes and new housing developments.
Following the successful application for a Skilled Worker Visa for one of our Utility Surveyors, we spoke with Vamsi Nidamarthi to gain insight into the impact of this process and the benefits it now presents for his career.
Vamsi, could you describe your experience applying for the Skilled Worker visa? What were the biggest challenges you encountered during the process?
As part of Technics’ strategy for sustainable growth, acquiring Earth Environmental and Geotechnical Ltd (EEG) boosts Technics’ resources by 50%. With the additional offices in Stockport, Redcar, Bath, and Reading, this acquisition will allow Technics to enhance its Ground Engineering team and offer multiple consultancy services efficiently nationwide. EEG will contribute additional value to the project lifecycle of infrastructure and development projects.
