Tire Power Customer Featured in Article for TireBusiness.Com

We were pleased to notice TIREMAX, a multi-store chain based out of Conroe, TX, and a long time Tire Power Software user, were featured in a very nice article in the March 10th issue of the TireBusiness.Com on-line publication.  TIREMAX has now begun franchising its retail concept across the nation, so their expansion efforts were highlighted in this article.  Good job TIREMAX, and congratulations from all of us here at TCS.  Follow the link below for the full article…

Use Tire Power Software to See the Big Picture

Most business owners are great at casting a vision or seeing the big picture. This is a great asset to their company as it gives their employees direction and motivation. So how does Tire Power Software play into the big picture? Or maybe a better question is, how do you get to the big picture? The answer…one report at a time.  Many Tire Power Software customers have yet to realize the full potential of the software. I have talked with several customers recently who have said, the more they use the software, the more they find it will do for them.  They feel it will enable them to be more efficient and improve their bottom line.

TCS Customer Named the 2009 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award Winner by Tire Business

We are pleased to see one of our own TCS customers, Mr. Scott Beasley, owner of Duncan Tire Company in Dublin, GA, was awarded the prestigious 2009 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award.  Presented by Tire Business, a long time tire industry publication owned by Crain Communications Inc., Mr. Beasley was recognized for his humanitarian service in the community.  In part, the article stated “He’s the role model that every man needs to be. From his family involvement to business to community, he’s the ideal role model”.   It has been our pleasure to work with Scott and Duncan Tire for a few years now, so no one here at TCS was surprised he won this award.  Congratulations Scott.  For the full article, follow the link below.

TCS Customer Interviewed for Modern Tire Dealer Article

I wanted to throw out a quick mention regarding an article in February’s edition of Modern Tire Dealer.  Roger Porter of Porter’s Tire Stores, a growing 4 store chain in east Tennessee, and one of our very own Tire Power users, was interviewed in an article regarding his views of the use of software in today’s modern tire dealership and what is the most important functionality provided by the software.  Here is some of what he had to say…. “With multiple stores, you need “the ability to track what goes on at each store,” says Porter. “Even from my home, I can log on and monitor exactly what’s going on.  It’s a system of checks and balances that begins with the point of sale.”  It is great to see one of our customers gain the recognition they deserve from the industry, and to get a chance for us here at TCS to see the positive impact our product has on someone’s business.  For more of Roger’s comments, and for the full article, follow this link….

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR TIRE POWER SOFTWARE – Knowing Your Windows Makes All the Difference

One of the things which set an efficient “Super User” apart from an average user of Tire Power software is knowing your software’s windows and features.  Being able to quickly find pertinent information on the window makes your job easier and helps you serve the customer better.  For example, if a user is on the ‘View Customer History’ window, and wishes to see which mechanic was assigned to a particular job on a particular invoice, you can find it very quickly if you take the time to learn your software’s windows.

Even More Miles Outta Them Ol’ Tires

Landfills everywhere are overflowing with old tires. Why not give them a few extra miles? There is a new trend of making old tires into sandals. The best instructions on making tire sandals I found were at the blog What The Cool. All you need is an old tire, a Dremel (or other tool to cut through the steel belt), old carpet scraps, adhesive and some plastic bags.

SMART Goal Setting for the New Year

Although change can occur at any time, the beginning of a new year offers a great starting point. As a business owner, you may have established some resolutions for your tire and automotive service company.  What would you like to see change this year? Is there anything you want to do differently? Are there any processes you want to change? What areas do you want to improve? Take time to reflect on the past year and write down exactly how you want 2010 to be different. Get a clear vision of this in your mind and establish concise goals which will achieve your desired end-state. Next, think of the steps you will need to take to make that a reality and develop a plan of action.  It is imperative to write everything down. Think of this as your blueprint.  A contractor may have a vision in mind of the home he is about to build, however he would not attempt to begin construction without first having the blueprint in hand. This action plan will be your blueprint for success. The power of a written vision and goals is enormous.  A common tool that may assist you in the framework for your goal development is the acronym SMART.
