Out with the Mold, in with the new You!

Do you have serious snot issues? No really…Are you or your family member coughing all the time? I have been blaming my three year old, for the three years I’ve lived in this house, for why we were always having sinus issues.  I’m thinking she’s building her immune system. Plus at preschool she’s catching and kindly bringing everything home to us. Before moving to this house three years ago, we were never sick. As soon as we move here, it starts a consistent sinus problem that never seemed to go away. The kind that keeps you from breathing freely at night through your nose. The kind that makes you cough mucus constantly. The kind that makes you want to take your child out of pre school because “why in the world is someone always sick in this house??”  IT WAS MOLD. Our air that we were breathing was making everyone sick. And not only that, but we were tired, drained, irritable, you name it, we felt BAD. Immune system under attack 24/7. Since I work at home and it was worse under my bedroom, I got the mass of it! It was never ending. This is going to sound like a commercial for real. Because I honestly cannot believer how freaking amazing I feel after having discovered we had a severe mold problem and getting rid of it. First of all, the house isn’t that old, 8 years. And it was the builders dream home that he lived in and the economy forced the sale. So why in the world would we suspect there being a drainage and moisture issue under the house? Recently, we had AdvantaClean out to inspect our house for purposes of cleaning the vents and I am SO glad that we made that call! It turns out that we did have mold…and lots of it. Before this point, I never knew how much damage mold can do to your health. The videos below are from my house. Now I felt so strongly that everyone needed this information that my husband and I chose to share our story. And we are not compensated for any of this. Every time I hear someone coughing, I wonder if they have mold. If their kids are snotty, I wonder if they have mold. Mold is a silent and sometimes deadly KILLER! People DIE from mold. I felt like if we could save someone the misery we had gone through then it was worth our time to document and share the life changing story that mold removal can be. Old man winter is moving in over here in N.C. I don’t know if you are getting the gloomies like we are. E N O U G H already. Geez! Rain, clouds, cold, wait it was 76 two days ago and now winter again, UG! All I could think of today was warm comforting soup. However, not at the expense of my waistline! Summer is just around the corner and so are swimsuits. I’m not about the ruin a perfectly good workout this morning with a burger and fries!

This soup is so satisfying anytime of the year, I am sure you will be putting into your favorites recipe folder and serving for brunch or lunch or dinner.  It is that good!
