Last Thursday, Lynn Elfers was honored at Women Excel (WE) awards at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual WE Celebrate Breakfast as a finalist in the category of Community Impact. Being chosen as a finalist recognizes the contribution that Lynn and our company Affordable Language Services has made to the-well being of the Cincinnati region in general and specifically how the business has helped the immigrant and foreign visitor community.

Last Friday, October 9th, we attended the World Trade Day Kentucky 2015 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville Kentucky to a sold out crowd of 400 trade practicioners, international dignitaries, leaders of industry and government officials.   The exhibits hall hosted display 50 booths ranging from Trade Service Providers, multinational companies and international dignitaries.  There were 16 representatives from over 14 nations were present at World Trade Day Kentucky 2015 to facilitate global trade and commerce.

We in full swing with our fall session  of Bridging the Gap 2015… we have 24 participants with the following languages: Spanish, Japanese, Arabic, Nepali, French and Sign.

On Saturday September 12th, Affordable Language Services hosted a booth at the Cincinnati Deaf Health Fair at Cincinnati State College. Our staff included Diane Dunne, Bobbi Krimmer, Alexis Rhodenbaugh, Joey Phalen, and Sarah Phalen, all trained in American Sign Language.

This is the top training program for medical interpreters in the US with a presence in thirty-one states, the District of Columbia and Qatar. May is known as a time for new growth and it’s been a busy month at Affordable Language Services. Because of the increasing requests for our interpreting services, we have been adding to our interpreting team, including staff interpreters, recruiters and scheduling. As you can imagine, everyone here has been busy keeping our customers happy and getting ready for a big Summer season.
