Winter is the season of shorter days and earlier nights. During this time, it’s crucial for educators to recognize the impact of Childhood Seasonal Depression on students. At Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS), we support teachers and related services providers in understanding and addressing this important issue.
BCBAs should use the start of January to review behavior plans with teachers and support staff. Run some fidelity checks and update preference assessments. Thick schedules of reinforcement will help keep undesired behaviors down.
You heard that right. I want you to NOT start exercising and eating healthy. I want you to procrastinate! Here’s why. As a physical therapist, you have many options for the path your career will take. If you’re interested in working with children, then you may be considering a pediatric outpatient or school-based position. Our team at Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) discusses the differences between school-based and outpatient PT here.
In a school setting, registered behavior technicians (RBTs) support students with a range of behavioral concerns. If a career in pediatric behavioral health interests you, then working alongside Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) may be a great fit, as it allows you to help students who need additional classroom support to fully access their education.
