The scientists at IONS continue to advance the field by mentoring fellow scientists dedicated to consciousness research. Director of Research Helané Wahbeh is on the dissertation committee of Ivana Gligoric at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), who is doing a study of the Magic of Death.
The Linda G. O’Bryant Noetic Sciences Research Prize recognizes groundbreaking research on non-local consciousness, a concept that challenges the conventional view of consciousness as being solely generated by the brain.
Our current times are overwhelming. We are more connected than ever through technology, being constantly surrounded by social media, 24/7 news, and AI that gets harder and harder to distinguish from reality. At the same time, we are less connected than ever to other humans. At least, that’s what the stats say. IONS has previously written about how the loneliness epidemic is plaguing humanity.
WOW! What an experience! Thank you to everyone who participated in our 50th anniversary conference, BEYOND: Global Mind Change in Action. The lineup of speakers was exceptional. The conference featured profoundly engaging panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and unique opportunities to connect with the IONS community. Throughout the four-day event, attendees experienced several awe-inspiring moments, with the guiding presence of our founder and past leaders palpable. They discussed their current projects and what’s to come in the years ahead. Board Chair and Interim CEO Claudia Welss provided context for IONS at 50 and beyond, and explored the areas of creativity and psychedelic studies, UAPs, conscious AI, and more with IONS science advisors, board members and special guests.
