It’s often said that psychic abilities run in families. But have any formal studies on the genetics of psychic ability ever been done?
Aging from the heart doesn’t happen for everyone, but it can, and I think it’s happening to me. Aging from the heart can help us discover opportunities in our natural aging process.
In this blog series, we are highlighting the practices that our IONS staff members use to connect to noetic information and energy. This month Andrea Livingston, Associate Director of Engagement, shares her practices about connecting and communicating with nature as a noetic practice.
The possibility of communicating with the deceased has enchanted the human imagination for millennia. But is it just imagination? Or is mediumship real?
The process of growing older includes an often overlooked component: the noetic character of aging. Our culture rarely celebrates that we even get to age, but as many know, growing older can be a powerful and inspiring time to more clearly hear our inner voice of knowing.
The IONS Experience & Engagement department is pleased to announce a brand new online workshop. Consisting of three 90-minute sessions, the Foundations in Noetic Leadership workshop explores the opportunities and challenges associated with a noetic approach to leadership.
Are we ready to lead from an emerging knowledge of our interconnection with other human beings, nature, and the cosmos? Can we nurture the development of leaders who depend on insights from both the rational and the transrational? We here at IONS believe that the answer is an emphatic YES. And in support of that mission, we are excited to be launching the IONS Noetic Leadership Initiative.
Manifesting — bringing about positive outcomes through thought or belief — is making news these days. Though these mental “magical” practices have been around for eons, recently even the New York Times has dipped its toes into esoteric waters, with an article on the increased interest from millennials in the law of attraction and power of positive thinking.
We are very excited to announce the launch of our new Internet Mindfulness Meditation Intervention (IMMI) course! This is a research-based, six-module, self-paced, online program for anyone who wants to learn about mindfulness meditation. Though this form of meditation originates in Eastern spiritual practices, such as Buddhism, in modern Western cultures mindfulness is usually defined as paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally (Jon Kabat-Zinn). IMMI explores this basic definition on many different levels and is designed to support anyone who would like to learn how to reduce stress and increase their quality of life with mindfulness.
