ECA’s Communities of Practice (CoP) are a valuable resource for early  childhood professionals to boost their professional development. Here  Young Academic Early Learning Centre’s Aimee Mathai reflects on her  participation in an ECA CoP on STEM in Early Childhood, which resulted in  an Action Research Project (ARP) on how to implement STEM learning  across multiple services.

This Celery dying experiment is designed to teach children how plants absorb water from their roots in a process called Osmosis.

This Cupcake Towers experience is designed to encourage children to build upon their sensory exploration skills and hand-eye coordination.

Playdough is a fun, versatile material. Playing with playdough provides numerous benefits to children, as they
learn to manipulate it in many ways, and get creative while doing so. It is also a safe, soothing, and satisfying sensory
experience.
