February 16, 2017 – Biodex welcomed more than 20 students and faculty from Hunter Allied Health Division, School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at its Shirley, NY Corporate Headquarters.
On April 25, Biodex staff assembled on the second floor of their Shirley, NY headquarters to take part in the company’s annual charitable Chinese Auction. This year, proceeds from auction ticket sales would benefit the Maurer Foundation.
Tickets were dropped into bins for a chance to win a variety of baskets, gift cards and other items, donated to the event by local businesses and Biodex employees. Wine baskets, restaurant gift cards and hotel stays were among the popular items. The event was a success, raising $900 for the Maurer Foundation.
For the last five years, Biodex has sponsored Team 4458 Inferno Robotics of Center Moriches High School on Long Island as part of an ongoing effort to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in the local community.
Ultrasound students from Hunter Business School visited Biodex headquarters in Shirley, New York for instructor-led education. The students, who are 3 weeks away from graduation at the time of the visit, learned about the latest ergonomic features built into Biodex Ultrasound tables from Senior Product Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Tables, Rich Schubert.
Biodex is proud to congratulate former Biodex intern, Kevin Gmelin, who will be graduating as Valedictorian of the Center Moriches High School’s class of 2018.
Biodex hosted a troop of local students from Suffolk Community College for hands-on rehab education at our corporate building in Shirley, NY. The students, who are training to become physical therapist assistants, learned about the benefits of blending traditional rehabilitation techniques with technology.
This month we are proud to celebrate Gary Barello, SVP, Human Resources and Organizational Development at Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. As a highly active member of various boards, Gary has been named a 2018 MoXY Men of Distinction Honoree; a well-deserved commendation for a man who has paralleled his career with altruism.
As sponsors of the Center Moriches High School Robotics Team, Biodex was proud to host the group at their Shirley, New York headquarters to get a demonstration of their latest robotic creation. Students enjoyed a captive audience for their robot demonstration and a tour of the facility.
This Election Day, Biodex welcomed eighteen middle school and high school teachers to their corporate building in Shirley, New York for their annual Teacher’s Professional Development Day.
