There are lots of words to describe it… clairvoyance, telepathy, psychokinesis, precognition, psi, psychic, channeling, extended human capacities, anomalous information reception… the list goes on and on. And not many people feel comfortable talking about it. Help us learn more about how people experience the phenomenon that we describe as accessing and/or expressing information and energy not limited by space and time. IONS is conducting a study to learn more about the diversity of these experiences.

When it comes to your support, we know you have choices. Just as you might evaluate opportunities as part of your long-term investment and retirement planning, you can apply the same principles when it comes to the organizations you support. And we are pleased to share with you that because of our strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency, IONS has been recognized by both GuideStar and most recently, Charity Navigator, with top honors. GuideStar bestowed its Gold Seal and Charity Navigator its highest possible 4-star rating so you can be secure in the knowledge that your investment in IONS is both meaningful and thoughtfully managed.

All human beings have a natural ability that they use daily to transform their world. It’s called imagination. I like to pronounce it I*magic*nation, because it reminds me of its magical powers. Often the rational, scientific part or our mind discounts our mental creations as “just” imagination. But none of the advances of science would have been possible without the ability to conceive of the opportunity first. I enjoy seeing pictures of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge while it was being built and it had only the two towers and no connection in the middle. It reminds me that it didn’t always exist. If Joseph Strauss hadn’t imagined the bridge, and others were not able to also visualize it and to add to the creation, this marvel of human ingenuity would never have been built.

IONS Fellow Michael Sapiro, PsyD, one of the teachers of the IONS iRest Course for Older Adults, discusses his personal and professional experiences with Integrative Restoration (iRest) and how it may help people experiencing mood symptoms like anxiety or depression.

What is humanity’s next moonshot? How do we accelerate positive possibilities for our future? How can scientific knowledge and inner wisdom be used together to give insights into our lives and the world at this critical time on the planet?

In modern times, human beings have gone to great lengths to understand the far reaches of outer space, but for most, the knowledge and wisdom of our internal realms are still undiscovered.

Consciousness remains a huge mystery. We all have it, but science has no idea how it could arise from a physical brain. Our brain is physical and yet our consciousness is not. How could a nonphysical consciousness emerge from a physical brain? Science Magazine has called this “hard problem” the #2 question remaining in all of science!

Each and every one of us is brought into existence to live a life of joy, fulfillment, and abundance. Yet more often than not, we are conditioned to settle, to dream small (or worse, not at all), and to let outside circumstances dictate the course of our lives. Sadly, many people live their entire lives believing that their circumstances have complete control over their results, but that’s simply not true!

“Mind Over Matter” parties were created and perfected by the late citizen scientist Jack Houck in the 1980s. By day, he ran a research lab at an aerospace company, and by night he researched his growing fascination with psychokinesis with over 16,000 people. His eight-plus years of research resulted in a repeatable methodology which enables 85% of participants to bend spoons. This phenomenon is possible with a single person but gets much easier when a group of 15 or more create a peak emotional experience together.

It is through inner experience — our dreams, our intuitions, our creative musings — that life-impacting transformation, innovation, and well-being are birthed. Think of a “moonshot” — an ambitious, collective effort to achieve the seemingly impossible. Moonshots are audacious. They are bold. Moonshots help us build a bridge to an inspiring, creative future.
