Although Joe did not win the award, to even be named one of the four finalists is a monumental honor. All of Pioneer-360, Joe’s family, and his community could not be prouder, because to us, there is no one more deserving of this prestigious title.
You hear it every day; cyberattacks are on the rise and cybercriminals are getting smarter, but still over 75% of organizations believe they are unprepared for and vulnerable to a cyberattack. The numbers don’t lie – experts are analyzing real-world cyberattacks to showcase the real-world threats that they pose. The Hacker News reported that over a 90-day period, The BlackBerry® Threat Research and Intelligence Team found that on average, there were 720 cyberattacks per hour, with Financial Services and Healthcare Services being the most targeted industries.

To even be considered a finalist amongst the hundreds and hundreds of applicants is a huge honor – Joe obviously stands out in a crowd for his unwavering dedication, hard work, and contributions to the IT industry, to his community, and to Pioneer-360; the IT company he started over 34 years ago in the most unexpected way.

You’ve read the scary statistics; cybercrime is up by 90% just within the last month, vulnerabilities are being found at a rate of 25% more than last year, and it’s being reported that 33 billion accounts will be breached in 2023 which breaks down to 97 cybercrime victims per hour. However, it’s difficult to picture yourself in these scenarios when you’re not even sure which risks relate to you and your organization. Ransomware attacks are on the rise – by more than 90% within the last month. NCC Group recorded a record number of cyberattacks in the month of March 2023, with the ransomware group “Cl0p” being named for about 28% of them. In the past, Cl0p’s victims have been broken down by industries, showing that they specifically target Healthcare and Financial Industries the heaviest. According to TechRepublic, March’s attacks seemed to ramp up due to a vulnerability found in January within GoAnywhere’s managed file transfer software that wasn’t remediated until February.
As we head into 2023, we can’t help but look back on this past year. 2022 was a great year for all of us here at Pioneer-360. We started off the year newly certified with our SOC2 Type II Compliance, we developed numerous remote program offerings, we ranked highly on two prestigious lists; Channel Future’s and CRN’s top 500 MSP’s in the world, and we were even named MSP of the Year by Channel Futures.
