According to Area Development Magazine, Alabama ranked No. 8 overall, scoring especially high in categories that are crucial to attracting investment and fueling job growth. The state earned the magazine’s top ranking for Favorable Property Tax and placed in the top 10 in eight additional categories, including Overall Cost of Doing Business (No. 3).

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Heman Drummond Center of Innovation was held in Jasper, Alabama in May of 2025. This $80 million, first-of-its-kind educational facility will open in Fall 2026 and serve over 2,100 students annually, clearly redefining the future of education and workforce development for high school students throughout Alabama.
