As Sydney’s winter weather is settling in, it sure is warmer to stay indoors, however, at our childcare centres, we encourage children to play outdoors when suited, as long as they are adequately dressed. Educators at our centres ensure that each child is appropriately dressed and warm before allowing them to play outdoors. Outdoor play during winter, spring, summer and autumn is extremely beneficial to children and should not be undervalued.

Whether your child attends one of our Young Academics Centres or learns at home with you, it is important to keep in mind how critical their early childhood years are for their cognitive development. At Young Academics, our team is trained in promoting healthy cognitive development at different stages of early childhood. Through play, fun educational activities and more, our educators nurture the minds of your children, preparing them for a bright future.

There is no right or wrong answer as to how many days your child should attend preschool. However, there is an extensive list of factors to consider when determining the answer to this question. You may need to consider your financial affairs, your family’s circumstances, your child’s behaviour, and more.

Across our centres, cultural diversity is celebrated so that children have the opportunity to learn and appreciate different cultures, races and ethnicities within the Young Academics community. Sydney is highly multicultural, so, unsurprisingly, our classrooms in centres across the city reflect that. Our team recognises the value of a multicultural society and actively works to promote that in our teachings.

Over the years, Young Academics has expanded across New South Wales. Our Cranebrook Early Learning Centre opened its doors in October 2018 and has since welcomed numerous children who have become a part of our family. Our educators are trained and qualified to care for and educate children from 6 weeks to 6 years. Like all of our other Young Academics centres, we have included unique facilities and high-quality resources at our Cranebrook centre, so that children, regardless of their age or learning style, can feel comfortable and safe, and benefit from our educational opportunities.

A child’s development in their early years is critical in assisting in the development of their social skills and abilities. The first five years is a period of rapid and significant change when experiences shape identity.

As a parent, one of the inevitable decisions that you will have to make is determining the right age to put your baby in childcare. While most parents know that childcare will eventually have to be a part of their child’s life, the struggle stems from figuring out whether the timing is right for both you and your child. Many parents struggle with separation anxiety which may result in the postponement of their child’s introduction to childcare. Other parents become more focused on what age is most beneficial for their child with regards to cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Children who have self-confidence from an early age are usually one step ahead in their development.  With confidence comes pride, resilience and the motivation to try new things, all of which help children to perform better in sports, academics and the arts. Generally, children who have self-confidence also have better social development which ultimately, improves their happiness. Because of the impact of self-confidence on a child, parents and childcare centre educators have a duty to help children develop confidence, especially in the early years of their childhood. Confidence developed at a young age, allows a child to believe in themselves, which will later continue into their childhood and adolescence.

When selecting a childcare centre or attending an orientation, our centre team members are asked several questions by eager and concerned parents. This is expected as any decision you make regarding your little one is an important one.
