Statistics Canada: The social and economic concerns of immigrants during the COVID-19 pandemic (May 2020)

A recent Statistics Canada study reveals that immigrants in Canada have higher levels of concern about their own health than Canadian-born individuals;  that immigrants are more likely to be concerned about civil disorder, social ties and the ability to cooperate; and that it is immigrant men who are more likely to report that the crisis would have an impact on their finances.

In March and April 2020, the Settlement Council of Australia (SCoA) carried out a series of consultations with its members in order to gauge the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on settlement agencies and the communities they support, following the unprecedented measures taken by Federal and State governments in Australia to minimise the spread and subsequent impact of Coronavirus.
