Growing up in an urban area, the few times I got the chance to see a deer grazing was a beautiful sight. Now, the sight of deer just means trouble for our gardens and landscaping. Deer have few, if any predators in our area and are able to grow their population with ease. Although they often have wooded areas nearby with plenty of food, your garden offers an all-you-can-eat buffet style variety. If food supplies are scarce, the deer will eat just about anything that’s growing in your yard.  So what can you do to keep your plants safe? 

The cold grey winter will be coming soon but many landscaping plants can add color and interest. Fall is the perfect time for planting. When looking for plants for winter interest think of shapes, color in leaves, color of the bark, colorful fruit, shapes of the plants, shapes in the trunk or branches,

The grass has turned green again in our landscaping but everything else is turning brown right? It’s just that time a year. As the temperatures fall there are some things we should be doing to put the garden to bed for the winter.

Fall Cleveland Landscaping Tips: Often times the enjoyment we get from planting flowers in our yard is immediate.  We plant them when they are small and watch them grow and fill out.  Bulbs take more patience, but are well worth the wait.
