How Can We Move from a Sense of Separation to Interconnectedness?

We’re excited to welcome Steve Taylor, PhD, as the guest speaker at our ConnectIONS Live free webinar on Friday, January 22nd. Based on his recent book Spiritual Science, Steve will explain how human goodness — as manifested in qualities such as compassion, altruism and justice — is related to a sense of connection. Conversely, what we think of as ‘evil’ is related to a sense of separation. A sense of separation brings an inability to empathize, or take other people’s perspectives, and a preoccupation with one’s own desires and goals.

The Epiphany that Birthed IONS

On February 5, 1971 Captain Edgar Mitchell, along with fellow Apollo 14 astronauts Alan Shepard and Stuart Roosa, landed on the surface of the moon. During this historic nine hour and twenty-three minute moonwalk, they were tasked with conducting in-depth research on the lunar surface — taking pictures, leaving behind scientific measuring devices, and collecting more than 93 pounds of samples.
