Here at Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS), we have decades of experience supporting students, teachers, administrators, and clinicians. We’ve seen our model and approach improve lives in our partnering schools within the United States and around the world.
This year, our team is thrilled to celebrate 25 years of providing high-quality pediatric therapeutic services in our communities. Join us as we reflect on this momentous milestone!
When we first began to apply a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Model to special education and related services rather than simply general education, it was revolutionary. Today, it is quickly becoming the standard. The MTSS Model matches students with the right level of support: classroom level (Tier 1), small group (Tier 2), or individual therapy (Tier 3).
By acting as a functional safety net, the MTSS Model helps more students who need extra support while ensuring that only those who truly require therapy end up there. We’ve seen this improve care and contain caseloads, and we intend to continue improving it!
To empower teachers, paraprofessionals, and parent volunteers to incorporate therapeutic strategies into the classroom, our expert team also developed The Capable Classroom™ Suite of Tier 1 & Tier 2 interventions. These activities and interventions help students develop capacity rather than dependency. A few of our most popular activities to date include:
The best part about these tools? They can be led by a therapist, teacher, paraprofessional, or parent volunteer. We know that when everyone involved in a student’s life understands basic therapeutic strategies, they receive more comprehensive support, enabling them to achieve their goals sooner.
Another major development was our proprietary BudgetWatch™ analytics software, which provides our partnering school administrators with both current and big-picture program insights that enable real-time, data-driven decision-making. With this valuable information, administrators can make adjustments that improve the effectiveness of their program, while PTS Clinical Directors provide day-to-day operational support.
The result? More students get what they need while keeping the program within budget in both the short and long run. Though it may sound too good to be true, we’ve seen it work again and again. Head to our Success Stories page to learn more.
Another major aspect of our success stems from our investment in the clinicians we place in our partnering schools. PTS Clinical Directors are also therapists, which means they understand the therapist’s experience firsthand. This enables them to provide clinicians with access to the guidance and support they need to do their best work. When therapists have the support they need, students reap the benefits and rewards.
From our free library of clinician-designed resources to networking and career advancement opportunities and our optional School-Based Academy, our Therapist Achievement Approach™ sets up therapists and students for success and it shows. We are proud today that nearly half of all our incoming applicants have been referred to us by a current clinician.
Over the past 25 years, we’ve been recognized time and again for the innovative approach we’ve applied to school-based therapy and related services. We intend to continue this level of excellence moving forward. A few of our most prominent awards to date include:
All of us at PTS want to thank you for being part of the incredible success we’ve experienced throughout our first 25 years of providing pediatric therapeutic services. We’re excited to look ahead to the next 25 years and hope to continue partnering with you for decades to come.
