Working remotely has many benefits; reducing our carbon footprint with less need to commute, reducing overheads and improving our work/life balance which ultimately has a positive impact on our wellbeing. However, it can uncover challenges too. How do you keep yourself from getting distracted? How do you go about effectively communicating with your teams?
In our latest blog, we share our top tips for working from home, whether you’re a seasoned pro that needs a gentle reminder or you’re new to the working from home game and you don’t want to fall into bad habits.

Create your own environment
Your work environment is so important; it can affect your mood, your productivity and your general outlook on the working week ahead. Make sure you have a suitable desk, chair and the equipment you need to make the most out of your day.
At LIMA, we believe technology is the backbone that supports business ambitions and so making sure you have the right tech in place to support you whilst working from home is our number one tip.

Always take lunch breaks
Move away from your desk, go for a walk or do some at-home exercise. It’s important to stay healthy and take some time away from your computer screen. We guarantee that you will be more productive for it.
Maintain your work/life balance
When working remotely it’s so easy to fall into the trap of working longer hours and checking in over the weekend. Therefore, it’s so important to encourage yourself, and your employees, to shut their laptop, put away their notebooks and close the office door (if possible!). It will take practice and discipline to develop the habit of turning off work both physically and mentally, but it’s so worth it in the long run.
Establish your routine
Coupled with maintaining your work/life balance, establishing a solid routine and sticking to it when working from home is so important. Encourage your employees to start their day on a positive note and continue with their healthy habits such as keeping active, eating well and staying hydrated.
If there’s anything you want to achieve before or after work, it’s a good idea to schedule that in too as it will help give more structure to your day.
