What if your intuitive impressions could help redefine how science understands consciousness? What if your gift could contribute to one of the most ambitious research programs ever conducted on mediumship?
We are seeking experienced mediums—those who have provided at least 20 readings over the past year—to participate in a groundbreaking study that combines advanced brainwave monitoring with rigorous scientific protocols. This is not a demonstration. It is a challenge—and an opportunity—to test your intuitive abilities under blinded, controlled conditions using state-of-the-art EEG technology. If you’re ready to explore the science of your mediumship and contribute to the future of intuitive research, this study was built for you.
For over a decade, researchers at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), led by neuroscientist Dr. Arnaud Delorme, have been investigating whether mediums can receive accurate information under blinded conditions—and whether brain activity reveals distinctive neural signatures when this happens.
In three prior experiments, mediums consistently performed above chance in tasks involving communication with the deceased. In one study, four mediums gave readings while EEG data were recorded. Three out of four produced statistically significant results (Delorme et al., 2013). In another, mediums attempted to identify whether a person in a photograph was alive or deceased. Five of 12 mediums succeeded beyond chance (Delorme et al., 2018). In a third, mediums and controls guessed the cause of death from images of deceased individuals. Interestingly, even some controls scored above chance, though their brainwave activity was strikingly different from that of mediums (Delorme et al., 2020).
What these studies suggest is provocative: there may be measurable, physiological differences in how mediums process intuitive information. However, these earlier studies were limited by small sample sizes. To draw stronger conclusions, the next step is clear: scale up.
We are now launching the largest EEG study on mediumship to date, and we are inviting qualified mediums to be a part of it. We aim to recruit 300 participants, including 150 experienced mediums. All participants will complete the study from home using the Muse EEG headband—a lightweight, user-friendly device that records your brain activity while you perform a mediumship task. If you qualify for the study, we will provide you with a device on loan. Please note that there is no monetary compensation for participation.
The experiment is simple, but powerful: you’ll be shown 201 facial images of deceased individuals and asked to intuitively identify their likely cause of death—heart attack, gunshot, or car accident. Your task is not to guess, but to engage your intuitive faculties in a focused and blinded setting.
The experiment will also include a short survey on personality, belief, and intuitive experience. All told, the session takes about 30 minutes and is conducted entirely at home. All instructions are provided, and support is available throughout the process.
There are countless anecdotal reports of mediumship. Yet rigorous scientific data—especially neural data—are rare. This project combines the gold standard of scientific method (double- and triple-blind protocols, EEG brainwave monitoring, large sample sizes) with your lived experience as a medium. It is a unique opportunity to go beyond validation and into discovery.
If you meet the following criteria, we would love to hear from you:
You’ll be contributing to a study supported by peer-reviewed research and guided by a team with extensive experience in both neuroscience and consciousness studies.
This is a rare chance to engage with research that values your expertise. If you’re ready to explore what your intuition might reveal under the lens of science, we invite you to participate.
Be part of a project that’s changing how the scientific world understands intuition, consciousness, and the unexplored reaches of the human mind.
