Since its founding in 2018, Project Invent has empowered educators to transform their students into fearless, compassionate problem solvers through invention. At the end of 2021, Project Invent approached Edgility to help them find a new Executive Director who could build on the successes of their predecessor, Founding Executive Director, Connie Liu, and carry on their ambitious mission by increasing their school partnerships, growing their staff, and increasing the organizational budget. 

A Candidate with Experience, Education, and a Passion for Education

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Jax Chaudhry assumed education roles at Urban Prep Academies, High Jump, and Teach for America in Chicago, where, as a manager, she focused on onboarding new staff. In 2017 she moved to New York to be the Business Operations Manager at Success Academy Charter Schools, before becoming the Regional Director for the DC area at The Literacy Lab. After two years in that role, Jax was ready for a new challenge with a national reach and an innovative program that could benefit from her expertise and commitment.  Project Invent emerged as the perfect mutual partner. 

A Problem Solver to the Rescue

Jax Chaudhry stood out from an impressive pool of over 2000 applicants from all over the country. Her passion and connection to problem-solving and STEM education made her a clear match for Project Invent’s unique program. When reflecting on the search process, Project Invent’s President and Board Chair, Aragon Burlingham, said of Jax,

“[she is] the ideal person in getting us closer to bringing the invention experience to every student in America.” 

Project Invent was extremely excited to offer her the role of Executive Director.  In her role, Jax shared her focus is on “leading fundraising efforts to support fiscal sustainability for the organization, strengthening our equity practice to support new students further and furthest from opportunity, and building strong partnerships with school districts in support of our whole school model and expansion to middle school.” With Jax’s leadership, Project Invent will enable America’s new generation of the 21st Century to develop resilience, curiosity, and empathy for a better future.
